Revised wedding menu: WDYT?

Question by MorningStar: Revised wedding menu: WDYT?
Well we have decided to revise the menu again, for about 50-60 people:

Shrimp Cocktail
Veggie Tray
Olive/Stuffed Olive/Sutffes Grape leaves Tray
Phyllo cups with something not sure yet, any suggestions?

Main Course Choices:
Stuffed Chicken Breastj
Carved Oven Roasted Turkey
Carved Roast Beef
Herb Roasted New Potatoes
Overn-Roasted Veggie Medley
Stuffed Roasted Goat

(When my fiance, he’s from Egypt, told me he was bringing goat I thought it would be cut up and served on flatbread or something. Apparently it is going to be a whole roasted goat stuffed with rice and some other stuff (apparently a tradition, and so that we can serve halal for Muslim guests). I hope none of the American/non-Muslim guests freak out about this what do you think?)

Wedding Cake (of course)
But what other desserts are ok?
I am thinking plain homemade cheesecake (fruit topping options on the side)?
Tiramisu (store bought)?
Chocolate trifle(homemade)?
Will also have a fruit tray with fresh fruit and chocolate covered dried fruit…

Golden Punch, water, coffee, tea, sparkling juice for toast. No alcohol will be served.

BTW, the menu sounds delicious and very thought full to all who are coming. My thoughts are:

How about stuffing the phylo dough with a mixture of spinach and feta cheese…it’s yummy.

As far as the whole goat goes, I think that people should respect other peoples traditions and accept it or keep quiet
As far as the dessert goes, how about instead of a tiramisu (which is more of an Italian dessert) serve some delicious baklava. I know that many warehouse stores like Costco and Sam’s Club, sell large trays of baklava, some with chocolate on them. It would be more in tune with your guests from Egypt.
Whatever you decide, I know that your day will be memorable. Have a happy, happy wedding!

This sounds awesome. Yes, go with the cheesecake with fruit topping. Also, I’d have an assortment of dainties (some of his heritage’s specialties, too.)
The goat is cool. I’d give it a whirl. My husband’s from Eastern Europe and said it’s god.

It sounds great, I think the goat will be fine. It seems to me its much like our pig roast so I don’t see a problem.
